Status Types

An estimate can have one of the following statuses

1

What Can Be Done:

  • This is the default status when a new estimate is created.
  • You can freely modify any details, including pricing, materials, labor, and customer information.
  • No restrictions apply—edits, deletions, and updates are all possible.

🔄 How It Is Triggered:

  • Automatically assigned when an estimate is created.

Influence:

  • The estimate remains open for adjustments until it is submitted, canceled, or a revision is made.

2

What Can Be Done:

  • No edits allowed.
  • A revision can be created if changes are needed.
  • The estimate remains locked for reference.

🔄 How It Is Triggered:

  • Automatically when the "Submit" button is used (sends email with PDF).
  • Manually set in the dropdown if sending the estimate manually.

Influence:

  • Prevents modifications to ensure accuracy in what was sent to the customer.
  • Only way to change it is by creating a revision.

3

What Can Be Done:

  • Absolutely no edits or revisions allowed.
  • The estimate is permanently locked.

🔄 How It Is Triggered:

  • Automatically assigned when a Sales Order and Job are created from the estimate.
  • The system links the estimate to the corresponding Sales Order and Job.

Influence:

  • The estimate becomes finalized and is considered a confirmed contract.
  • No changes or new revisions can be made—if modifications are needed, a new estimate must be created from scratch or duplicate an existing one.

4

What Can Be Done:

  • No edits allowed.
  • Used for historical reference—search for the latest "In Progress" revision.

🔄 How It Is Triggered:

  • When a New Revision is created, the original estimate is marked as "Amended."

Influence:

  • Helps track changes and maintains version control.
  • Not an active estimate—work continues on the latest revision.

5

What Can Be Done:

  • No edits allowed.
  • A revision can be created if a new version of the estimate is needed.

🔄 How It Is Triggered:

  • Manually set to "Cancelled" from the dropdown menu.

Influence:

  • Ensures the estimate is no longer active.
  • Only way to restart is by making a revision.
